Why should you volunteer?

Volunteering with Interaction Week is an opportunity to be part of the IxDA community and expand your professional network globally:

All volunteers who work during the event or have made a commitment to support the core planning committee will gain free access to Interaction 24.

How can you help?

There are many ways you can help, from joining the planning committee to help shape and design the experiences or help out during the event.

Join the planning committee

We need people to join our team and help us with planning, curating and executing tasks leading up to the event. This will be a long-term commitment from the day you start until the event. You’ll be spending roughly about 4 -5hrs/week depending on the scope and the phases leading up to the event. 

Program
The Program team is responsible for curation. This is the first time that Interaction Week will be held outside of North America or Europe. We are seeking a diverse team to create a program that represents IxDA’s international community.

Communications
Do you live for social marketing? Crafting that perfect email? We need a dedicated team to develop our communications strategy and execute it with flair, not to mention building and keeping the conference website up to date!

Experience
Interaction 23 offered the possibility to bring the conference experience into the digital space as well as in-person. Once again we are developing a hybrid experience that makes the event accessible to anyone in our global community who wants to participate. As part of this team, you’ll shape the experience we all share together at Interaction 24. There is much to plan and then.

Branding and Design
Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for visual design? Bring your skillset to the team and support us in building our brand identity and producing design assets to support other core team functions.

Technology
Creating great content online isn’t possible without a team to keep our platforms running smoothly. If crafting a tech stack custom-built for the Interaction experience is your jam, we want to hear from you.

Speaker support
Interaction comes to life through the content created by our presenters. As part of this team, you’ll support our speakers in crafting their presentations and making sure they put their best face forward online and on-stage.

Be a volunteer during the event

We’ll also need volunteers to help us run the show.

Between 25 February to 1 Mar 2024, volunteers will be helping out with various parts of the event such as:

• attendee registration and badge collection
• workshops and facilitators’ logistical needs
• speaker preparation and stagehand support
• partner assistance
• tech and AV
• moderating/hosting the digital experience
• attendee navigation / ushering  
• the list goes on!

As a volunteer on the ground during Interaction Week, you can expect to work 8 -10 hr shifts across the week in order to be eligible for your free access to Interaction 24.
